Still reeling with grief over the loss her husband and daughter, and her brother selling most of her worldly possessions, Anna is shipped to Florida to live alone in quiet contemplation. Suddenly, a series of recent murders leave her in a position to discover the truth behind what is really going on in the Oldest City while opening up chances to make new friends and start her life over.

Local locations visited or mentioned in the text include the St. Johns River, Bridge of Lions, the Marina where the shrimpers dock their boats in the San Sebastian River, the Plaza de la Constitucion, and Anastasia State Park.</text>

<text>Set in the late 1700's, this historical fiction novel follows Don Diego, a 25-year-old Spanish settler, in his quest to both acclimate to the St. Augustine settlement and prove his worth to his lover, Manguila, and her father. However, when the English begin their takeover of the settlement and the Native Americans become restless at so much of their land being taken over, Don Diego and Manguila put their love on hold to first navigate the dangerous changes.

Local locations visited or mentioned in the text include the Old City Gates, the Castillo de San Marcos (called both San Marco and Fort Marion in the book), the Matanzas River, the San Sebastian River, the Plaza de la Constitucion, the Governor's House (Governor's House Cultural Center and Museum), and Anastasia Island.</text>

Alongside his good friend, Rectus, who is two years younger, the two boys travel south by boat and find themselves in the city of St. Augustine, and are quickly overcome with a desire to see all there is. One night, they decide to sneak into Fort Marion. They are caught, but meet two Cheyenne Indians who assist in their escape. They also meet descendants of the Minorcans brought over by Dr. Andrew Turnbull, and go sailing with a Minorcan family. They soon tire of St. Augustine and decide to travel further south meeting many friendly folk along the way, discovering exciting new places, and continuing the adventure neither would forget.

Other notable local locations visited include the St. Augustine Inlet and Matanzas Bay, Anastasia Island, the bayfront, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, and a bathhouse.</text>

<text>This novel follows the adventures of 15-year-old Jack, a descendant of the legendary pirate Calico Jack Rackham. After he discovers the diary of one of his ancestor's shipmates while on vacation in St. Augustine, he enlists the help of his friend Kai to track down the treasure. Solomon Cresson's journal tells of a treasure he'd buried in 1696, on Rattlesnake Island near Matanzas Inlet. But more than treasure awaits Jack and Kai, both long-dead pirates and something ghostly and menacing haunt the treasure. Will greed or friendship win in the end?

Additional local locations visited or mentioned in the text include St. Augustine Beach, the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, and the Castillo de San Marcos.</text>
