Abstract

A historical fiction version of the 2nd Seminole War (1835-1842) as told from the Seminole point-of-view. Historical personages included in this book are Coacoochee, Osceola, and Louis Pacheco. The ignominious capture of Coacoochee and Osceola south of St. Augustine is included in this work as well as their imprisonment at the Castillo de San Marcos. Louis Pacheco was born a slave on the Fatio plantation at Switzerland, and after his many years living with the Seminoles, he returned there to die.
