Abstract
Fictionalized account the author's early married life when they take in a dog from the husband's sister's family. The best indicator of time period in the story is the description of the trip from Jacksonville to St. Augustine, dating the time period as pre-Flagler Era. The story focuses on the domestic interactions with the adopted dog, Bruno, from when he is adopted until his death in an unnamed Florida locale - probably Lake Worth County where the Deweys finally settled permanently.
It is hard to identify specific locations in this story.
