Abstract
This is the final book in the trilogy about Anna and her family who had been slaves on a plantation in South Carolina. It is 1740 and Fort Mose has just been burned down by the Georgians from Savannah. Anna and her family occupy themselves with rebuilding. Meanwhile, bullies at school tease Anna for her interest in poetry and she makes friends with a new Indian girl her own age who has just moved nearby. The story ends in 1752 after the new Fort was completed.
