The White Flag
Dublin Core
Abstract
The White Flag is part history book and part novel telling the story of Osceola (in first person as much as possible), from childhood to leading the Seminoles in their resistance against the U.S. Government, before eventually calling for a truce under the titular white flag. Osceola was ignominiously captured under that white flag in 1837, but he and the Seminoles never surrendered.
Local locations visited or mentioned include, but are not limited to Fort Peyton (site of Osceola's capture) and Fort Marion (the Castillo de San Marcos).
