I'll Be Home for Peacemas

Dublin Core

Abstract

Bailey Hamilton's world is turned upside down when a viral video of her attacking a Santa impersonator gets seen across the nation. She flees her home in Boston and ends up in the last place she expected, her hometown of St. Augustine, FL with her dysfunctional family over Christmas, which is a pit of bad memories and distasteful associations. But Bailey rekindles a romance with an old flame, and as she reunites with her family, she quickly remembers why she had tried to stay away from the family's celebration of "Peacemas" for so long. And yet, as she spends more time at home and has flashbacks to Christmas's past, she begins growing closer to the people she has avoided for four years, and comes to learn that maybe people can change for the better and deserve second chances.

Local locations visited or mentioned in the text include the Castillo de San Marcos, the Old City Gates, the Bridge of Lions, Anastasia Island, St. George Street, St. George's Tavern, Florida Cracker Cafe, A1A Ale Works, and Flagler Hospital.
