Abstract

**Warning: Some readers may find certain scenes in this book disturbing.**

After fleeing violence and conflict with the Comanche in Texas, former Texas Ranger, Jessie Youngblood, makes his way to St. Augustine, decides he likes it, and buys a farm not far from the St. Johns River on a rivulet called Six Mile Creek, and marries a local woman. Then the Civil War breaks out and dangerous killers disrupt the tranquil farm life Jessie has established for himself. Will Jessie revert back to the tragically violent ways that got him in trouble back in Texas?

Other notable local locations visited include Fort Picolata, Fort Marion (Castillo de San Marcos), the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Plaza de la Constitucion, St. Augustine Inlet, the San Sebastian River and bridge, the Maria Sanchez Creek, the Picolata Road (SR16), St. George Street, and the Old King's Highway.
