Abstract

Piper, a young girl living in St. Augustine, absolutely adores the City, especially the Pumpkin Church every fall! However, when Hurricane Matthew hits, everyone must evacuate to escape the floods. What will happen to Piper's beloved Ancient City? This story is fun for the whole family, giving insight into the Nation's Oldest City as well as the indomitable human spirit, and what really happened in October 2016 during and after Hurricane Matthew.

Local locations visited or mentioned in the text include the Pumpkin Church (officially entitled the First United Methodist Church), the Bridge of Lions, and the Matanzas Bay/River.
