When he is left no choice but to run from his home with only his quick wit and skills with a rifle, Richard joins a band of Rebels along with his father. Francis Marion, "The Swamp Fox," gives him a secret and special mission - infiltrate British lines in Florida, and get to St. Augustine in search of Patriot political prisoners and treasure. Will he survive the violence of Revolution, the dangerous political situation of neighbor against neighbor with silver lining his pockets, or will he face his end on a British bayonet

Local locations visited or mentioned include, but are not limited to the Old King's Road, the St. Johns River, Six Mile Creek, the San Sebastian River, Fort St. Marks (Castillo de San Marcos), and the Plaza de la Constitucion.</dcterms:abstract>
