Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Perpetual Youth: A Birdseye View of a Court Yard Courtship

Dublin Core

Abstract

In this tongue-in-cheek travel pamphlet, narrated by A. Robin Redbreast, he describes how he and his wife leave their nest and fly South to stay the winter at the Hotel Ponce de Leon. During their stay, he has a bird's eye view of a budding relationship between two human snowbirds, Kathryn and Mr. Bellhaven, an Englishman. Despite the differences between bird and human courtship, he watches as slowly the two admit their feelings for one another - just before the season ends and the hotel closes.

Other notable local locations visited include the Plaza de la Constitucion, the Castillo de San Marcos, Trinity Church, and the Alcazar Hotel (Lightner Museum).
