A historic romance set during the 2nd Seminole War (1835-1842), the plot centers around 16-year-old Medora, daughter of federal territorial judge, William King and his wife Georgina. She is forced to marry Moncure Lauren. Medora loathes her husband and yearning for her true love, Thad Renfro. In addition to the romance, the suffering of both sides of the Seminole War are discussed.
