Abstract
Judge Derlax surveys campus and grades student papers from his office on the third floor of the Proctor Library. Flagler College student, Luke Fisher writes papers when he must, and surfs whenever he can. Retiree, Sam Floyd, bored of retirement, takes a part-time security job at Flagler College. Salvador Deaz, convicted drug smuggler in Maine, gets out of prison and heads south. How will the lives of these four intersect?

Chris Gallen is the eldest son of former Proctor Library Director, Michael Gallen (2000-2014). He was inspired to write this story after visiting the town his parents moved to in the late 1990s.
