Abstract

**Warning: Some readers may find certain scenes in this book disturbing.**

A bride moves to St. Augustine with her cruel husband not knowing the man she truly loves is in town. The husband is shot and he uses it as leverage to keep her with him while he torments her, by threatening to blame the shooting on her old lover. She investigates the shooting on her own even though Inspector McKee is brought to Florida to untangle the web of attempted murders, mayhem, false leads, and many, many suspects.
